Toolkit

Collaborating with Care: A Toolkit for Values-Informed Medical Humanities Research.

We are delighted to share our toolkit for research and partnership in medical and health humanities, underpinned by our shared project values.

You can read more about our toolkit below, or simply dive right in by reading or downloading it. We have also produced an easy-read version which you can access below.

More about the toolkit

LivingBodiesObjects was structured around four successive, collaborative residencies with our key partners. Although these were distinct from each other and very different, we developed ways of working which were common. This toolkit is the summation of our experiences, and provides practice insights into how to plan, run, and reflect on meaningful partnerships between researchers and collaborators. From professionals in the heritage sector to health-related charities, and researchers in the arts and humanities to community health advocates, we hope that there is something here for anyone interested in working together effectively to better understand experiences of health, wellbeing, and disability.

Across three sections, focusing on project design, activities and practices, and concepts and provocations, we include suggestions and prompts about how to approach inclusive and collaborative research partnerships. Our focus is on the medical humanities, but the toolkit applies equally in other areas of health-related research, and for anyone interested in co-production and anyone looking to get a collaborative project going.

At the back of the toolkit you’ll find examples of what we did, which you can use and adapt for to your own needs.

How did you find it?

We’d love to hear your feedback! Let us know what you think of the toolkit here.
